He is the author of a children's story 'Magic in Ravenswood' (Heinemann). He turned it into a family musical, writing the book and lyrics (music BB Cooper). Now called 'Goblins Don’t Scare Us', it was the Christmas show at the New End Theatre, Hampstead, in 2002/3. It was played in Delaware, USA, in November 2008.
He has also written the book and lyrics for Rock Heaven (music Scarlett G Antaloczy), a cheerful rock/swing musical about a murderer, a rock star, a groupie and a lot of cyborgs.
He has performed his lyric based one man show at various venues in London, including the King’s Head Theatre, the Canal Café Theatre and Pizza on the Park.
He recently completed a fantasy novel called ‘worldoflegends.com’, available on Amazon.
In 2005 he began his interest in film.
As an actor he has appeared in several shorts based on his cabaret characters. 'Just One More Night' in 2005 was Nigel's first screen appearance. He played an actress and incidental characters. The only words were the lyrics to Nigel’s song. In ‘Just One More Bite', 2007, he played a vampire. 'The Revelation of Reverend Jones' was made in 2008. All three shorts have received many festival awards and nominations.
He continues to act in short films for others and played his first part in a feature film, ‘The Drummond Will’, in 2009.
As a screen writer, his script for 'The Revelation of Reverend Jones' was nominated for an award at the Supershorts International Film Festival 2008. His feature length script 'The Road to Transylvania' was nominated as best script in the Swansea Bay Film festival 2008. He has recently completed a feature length script called ‘Swansea Rose,’ which has been nominated as best script in the Swansea Bay Film Festival 2010.
